Women's fiction is a genre that can best be defined as one that describes the woman's journey, and expresses what it means to the author to be a woman. Women's fiction includes stories from around the world, written by authors of many races, colors, and creeds. While at times it may include stories of relationships and domestic interactions, it should not be confused with romance.

Our November selection takes us inside the lives of conservative Arab women living in Americal: A Woman is No Man, by Etaf Rum.

Diana Abu-Jabar's review in the Washington Post begins:

What is a woman’s life worth? This question echoes across countries and generations through Etaf Rum’s intense debut novel, “A Woman Is No Man.”

The book discussion is not limited to EVPL cardholders, and anyone can join.  The invitation to join the Zoom meeting is here:
